Roland Francis - Financial adviser, Canada

Your section on the Gulf was the best
ever written by ANYONE. I truly appreciated it...The description, the
weaving of the underlying philosophy, the melancholy was outstanding.
No one has ever chronicled it like you do.

Armand Rodrigues - writer

I never cease to envy your command of the English language, your vocabulary and choice of words. Your writing is crisp and precise.  Above all, the content is spellbinding and portrays the depth of your research ---a Herculean task.
Having lived through the episodes relating to latter-day East Africa; transition to Goa at the outbreak of WW II ; life in Goa and Poona during the war; and being familiar with Portuguese and Konkanim ; I can relate closely to most facets of what you say in the relevant chapters.  As an "Africanist" I must confess that I knew nothing before about "Dubai- kars" and experiences or injustices we had in common.

Tony D'Sa ex-headmaster Sacred Hearts School, Parra

I have been reading Selma's
book which impressed me no end. Selma gets credit for the painstaking
research that she has done to bring out the book. It has an easy to read
style and it will be worth preserving as a monument to Goans of past days.
