Valerian Desouza - Sociology Professor, USA

I am writing to congratulate you on your excellent book Into The Diaspora Wilderness. I especially enjoyed the way in which you have interwoven some very interesting research with personal narratives. I believe that your book is the first attempt to provide a comprehensive account of the Goan diaspora, and hopefully, this will contribute to the somewhat lack of work that has been done on overseas Goans in the academic literature.

Dr Ruth Desouza - Sr Research Fellow, New Zealand

Just wanted to say a big thank you for the beautiful book about the experiences of Goans in the Diaspora, I was reading it while camped out a remote Maori land spot without water or electricity and so could really focus on the work. I wanted to thank you both  (FN because you sent me the book and you do so much tirelessly for the Goan community) and Selma for the huge labour of love this must have been for you. Having being born in Africa and now resident in NZ, it was lovely to fill in all the blanks in my own store of knowledge about Goan history in the Middle East for example.
Thanks so much for a very precious and important book!

Writer Peter Nazareth - author of The General is Up

My brother John gave me a copy of your book, which I read and learned a great deal from.  The photo of the Entebbe Goan institute includes me in front (I think I was eleven).
